HLTAID003 Provide First Aid

Course Description

This course is designed to give you the skills and knowledge necessary to assist a person requiring first aid until medical assistance arrives. If you are a First Aid Officer it is mandatory that your qualification is updated every three years.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Assessing an emergency situation

Legal and social responsibilities

Wound and burn management

Limb injuries

Poisoning, bites and stings

Who should attend?

Employees
Anyone working in training, teaching or have charge of children, teenagers, the elderly, disabled or working as an industry First Aid Officer may require a First Aid Certificate.

The Victorian Code of Practice for First Aid in the Workplace suggests that first aid officers update their certificates regularly.

Course Description

This course is designed to give you the skills and knowledge necessary to assist a person requiring CPR until medical assistance arrives. It is based on the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. If you are a First Aid Officer or  you work with children this qualification can be a mandatory requirement for most job roles and has to be renewed every 12 months.

Respond to signs of an unconscious casualty

Perform CPR (in accordance to ARC guidelines)

Communicate details of an accident

Contamination prevention

Who should attend?

Employees
Anyone working in training, teaching or have charge of children, teenagers, the elderly, disabled or working as an industry First Aid Officer may require a First Aid Certificate.

Course Description

This course is designed to give you the skills and knowledge necessary to assist a person suffering a severe allergic reaction and anaphylaxis until medical assistance arrives. It is based on the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. If you are a First Aid Officer or  you work with children this qualification can be a mandatory requirement for most job roles.

Plan and develop communication strategies to prevent allergic reactions and anaphylaxis

Administer Adrenaline (Epinephrine) via an auto-injector such as EpiPen and Anapen

Identify signs and respond safely in a situation

Minimise risk – identify hazards to health and safety of yourself and others

Conduct a risk management assessment and implement strategies to raise awareness

Provide specific First Aid

Evaluate First Aid response
