This program is specially designed for those candidates wishing to embark on a career in the transport industry. The Victorian Transport Association (VTA) is currently looking for candidates interested in becoming a Heavy Rigid or Heavy Combination driver.  No prior heavy vehicle driving experience is necessary (standard VicRoads license pre-requisites apply) and candidates who successfully complete the VTA’s program will be placed in a permanent full-time driving role.  Participants will be supported to prepare their applications for acceptance in the VTA’s Driver Delivery program.

This course will look at:

Construct a resume

Write cover letters

Address selection criteria

Interview techniques and presentation skills

Career advice and job search skills

Time management and much more…

On completion of this course, all students would have gained the information required to pursue a career in transport.

Description
This program is specially designed for those candidates wishing to embark on a career as a Bus Driver. Bus companies providing public transport services and coach services require that their drivers possess specific skills in order to ensure passenger safety and comfort. Students will be introduced and trained in bus specific skills which will enable them to better prepare for a pre-employment driver evaluation. This course will include driving the bus on the public roads.

This course will look at:

Accelerating

Lane keeping and changing

Turning procedures and straddling

Signalling

Braking

Bus stop entry and exit procedures

On completion of this course, all students would have gained the information required to pursue a career in transport
