Pick My Project – voting now open

Two exciting Cire projects for the Upper Yarra have made it through to the community voting stage of the State Government’s Pick My Project initiative, a $30 million online community grants program.

How can you help?

Vote for our projects. Voting opened on 13 August and the more votes our projects attract, the greater our chances of seeing them come to fruition. Everyone 16 years and older has three votes which must be used so you can vote for both of Cire’s proposals as well as one other.

Our proposals are:

Love Where You Live Through Art – celebrating the wonderful people, places and experiences in the Upper Yarra through art and featuring workshops, guest speakers and a finale showcase exhibition.

Upper Yarra Amazing Community Garden – a project based at Cire Community School’s hospitality training facility, in partnership with Koha Community Café, and designed to strengthen community through connectedness and shared resources.

The voting process is simple and takes just a couple of minutes. You need to be a Victorian resident aged 16 years or older in order to vote. You can vote for projects outside the area where you live. All you have do is enter the project location/suburb in the ‘Enter your location or suburb’ box at Pick My Project. This will display the projects in your selected location and then you can vote for them by following the prompts.

Under the Pick My Project initiative, $1 million has been allocated to the Eastern Metropolitan Region which includes the Yarra Ranges Shire. Given the shire’s population is so geographically dispersed, everyone’s vote is even more important in helping Cire’s projects succeed as well as the worthy submissions by others within our community.

Cire would like to thank everyone who votes to support our projects. If we are successful, these initiatives will enhance our wonderful community through art, homegrown produce as well as work experience and potential career pathways for our young people.
