As Australia celebrates National Skills Week (25-31 August), this year’s theme “Explore All the Options” couldn’t resonate more deeply with the work we do at Cire Training. Every day, we witness firsthand how vocational education opens doors that many didn’t even know existed.

Just last week, our Lilydale Civic Centre was filled with celebration as approximately 130 graduates completed their studies with Cire Training. The evening was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when people are supported to explore new career pathways, regardless of their starting point.

The Power of Personal Support

Guest speaker Bron O’Callaghan shared her own journey. From a small country town where her dreams of teaching were dismissed, to sweeping floors for four years, she eventually become a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) Compliance Consultant and State Committee Chair. Her message was clear:

The right education, delivered with personal support, can transform lives beyond imagination.

This philosophy sits at the heart of what makes Registered Training Organisations like Cire special. Take Robyn, who at 61 transitioned from dental nursing into disability support. After feeling “like a number” at larger institutions, she found Cire’s human approach transformative. By her first day of placement, aged care staff were asking how they could hire her.

Exploring All Your Options at Cire

True to this year’s National Skills Week theme, Cire Training offers pathways for learners at every stage of their journey:

  • Vocational Education and Training (VET) Qualifications are certificates and diplomas that qualify you for entry-level roles in growing industries like individual support, early childhood education, and community services. Many courses can be completed in under six months.
  • Employment Pathways are pre-accredited courses for those returning to work, seeking personal development, or building confidence before studying formal qualifications. These tailored programs create stepping stones to employment or further education.
  • VET Delivered to Secondary Students (VDSS)  bring vocational training directly to secondary students at school, giving young people practical skills and clear career pathways before they graduate.
  • Industry Accreditations include essential short courses in First Aid and food safety.

Small Classes, Big Impact

What sets Cire apart is our community-focused approach. With small class sizes and transparent fees from day one, students receive the individual attention they need to succeed.

There are no hidden costs, just genuine support focused on getting you job-ready.

As Board Chair Julian Carle reminded our recent graduates, completing vocational training sets you apart in the job market. It demonstrates to employers your ability to stick to a task and achieve outcomes, qualities highly valued across all industries.

Your Skills Journey Starts Here

National Skills Week reminds us that Australia needs skilled workers across key industries: aged care, disability support, individual support, and community services among them. The question isn’t whether opportunities exist; it’s whether you’re ready to explore all your options.
