Different Journeys 18+ adults ASD special groupAre you over 18?

Different Journeys are hosting a social night for young adults aged 18+ living with High Functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The event will be held on the second Tuesday of each month in a private function room. Come for dinner or a drink in a safe and supported environment with like minded people. Wifi will be available.

$5 entry per person.

Yarra Ranges CouncilLILLYDALE LAKE PLAYHOUSE – will provide a unique variety of interactive activities for those living with a disability.

The playspace has been designed for people of all ages and abilities to take advantage of the equipment, setting it apart from others.

Accessible elements of the playspace that people living with a disability can enjoy will include:

  • Double flying fox with an accessible seat
  • All abilities spinner/carousel
  • Accessible water play area, with water jets
  • Wheelchair accessible Liberty Swing

Following successful advocacy efforts by Yarra Ranges Council, the State Government’s Growing Suburbs Fund has contributed $1 million to the project, in addition to Council’s contribution of $400,000.

The playspace will provide opportunities for family time, child play, community social interactions and physical health and fitness in one shared space.

The playspace is due to be completed by the end of March 2017, depending on weather conditions.



The Pathway for Carers project offers carers of people with a disability or a mental health issue, an opportunity to share walks in Manningham, Maroondah and Yarra Ranges with other carers and to learn more about news, services, supports available to carers.

A time for Carers to exercise, feel good, chat, connect and relax

Join us for a one hour fitness session, followed by healthy refreshments. Enjoy connecting with other carers and improve your fitness and wellbeing.

Where: The Yarra Centre, 2454 Warburton Hwy, Yarra Junction
When: 31st January to 28th March every Tuesday at 12.30pm (duration 1 hour)
What: A fitness program for carers with a group fitness trainer followed by light refreshments
Cost: FREE

Respite: If required, respite to attend this program can be arranged through the Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centre on 1800 052 222.

A new VicEmergency Hotline has been created for warnings, preparedness and recovery information, planned burns and more. The new hotline will replace the existing VBIL, SES Information Line, Victorian Emergency Recovery Information Line, and others from DEDJTR and DELWP. Streamlining all numbers to one consistent number will help ensure the community have timely access to information before, during and after emergencies.

Existing phones lines will still remain active but will simply forward to the new VicEmergency Hotline by mid November 2016.

Glen Park and Yarrunga are working in collaboration with EACH Youth and Family  on  a program targeting young people between 16 and 25 who are unemployed and not studying.  The whole purpose of the program is to provide employment opportunities in a social enterprise to those young people.

Teen ASD Social Group

If you are aged 13 – 18 years old (or still attending secondary school) come and join our teen social group. We meet on the third Sunday of the month. It is a great opportunity to eat out and meet new friends who have similar interests. This newly formed group is aimed to support ASD teens in social settings.

This workshop is aimed at Early Childhood Educators, Primary School Staff and Parents

Autism SpectrumAspect’s Positive Behaviour Support Workshops are FREE and open to eligible Parents and Carers of children and young adults who are aged 6-25 years of age, who are living at home and diagnosed with Autism. Parents & Carers are also encouraged to invite professionals who are supporting their family to attend the workshop with them. Professionals are eligible to attend if they are attending with and in support of an eligible parent/carer and also need to register their attendance via our website.
