Do you work in community or health services and want to gain supervisory skills?
This skill set reflects the skills required to prevent, recognise and address food handling hazards in a health or community services workplace. The role includes supervising other people handling food to ensure it is safe for consumption and ensuring food handling practices adhere to the organisation’s food safety program.
Units include:
HLTFSE005 Apply and monitor food safety requirements
HLTFSE007 Oversee the day-to-day implementation of food safety in the workplace
Pre-requisite (level 1)

Who should attend?
This skill set is for workers with existing experience or qualifications in community services or health sector food services roles seeking to broaden their skills to include supervising others to ensure that food handling is carried out correctly and safely.

Duration & delivery mode
Duration
Three 6-hour training sessions and assessment in a workplace or simulated industry environment.
Delivery mode
On campus, in the workplace or a commercial kitchen. A 24-hour work placement (three shifts) in a community services or health environment is required to complete your assessment.
Supervisors are required to attend both days unless you have already obtained your Food Safety Level 1 Certificate then you only have to attend the second day (please bring a copy of your certificate on the day)
