In 1976, a small community house in Yarra Junction opened its doors, offering hobby courses and a playgroup. It was a modest beginning, but one rooted in a powerful vision: to create opportunities for everyone to learn, grow, and belong.
Fast forward to 2026, and Cire Services has grown into one of the largest not-for-profit education providers in Melbourne’s east. Today, we operate six early learning services across three council areas, four school campuses, vocational training programs, and two thriving community hubs that connect thousands of people each year. And we’re not stopping there with some exciting developments on the horizon.
This incredible growth tells a story of what’s possible when a community comes together with a shared commitment to education, inclusion, and opportunity.
Marking Five Decades of Impact
In 2026, we’re proud to celebrate 50 years of making a difference. To mark this milestone, we’ve refreshed our logo to honour our history while looking toward the future. Throughout the year, we’ll be sharing the moments, decisions, and people that have shaped Cire’s journey as we’ve grown from a single building in Yarra Junction into the wide-ranging organisation we are today.

Throughout the year, we’ll share the pivotal moments, challenges, and breakthroughs that have defined our journey, beginning with our registration as a community education provider in 1983. You’ll learn about our Registered Training Organisation (RTO) opening in 1992, our first early learning centre in 1996, and the launch of our independent school in 2015. These stories highlight the resilience and vision that have driven us forward.
