First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis (22578VIC)

This course is suitable for those who have responsibility for adults or children who are at risk of anaphylaxis and/or asthma. It teaches how to recognise, manage, and respond to asthma and anaphylaxis conditions and emergencies.

Assessments comprise practical tasks and written questions throughout the course.

Course topics

• Plan and develop communication strategies to prevent allergic reactions and anaphylaxis.

• Administer Adrenaline (Epinephrine) via an auto-injector such as EpiPen and Anapen.

• Minimise risk – identify hazards to health and safety of yourself and others.

• Conduct a risk management assessment and implement strategies to raise awareness.

• Provide specific First Aid.

• Evaluate First Aid response.
