Business for Trades opens the door for secondary school students to explore the many opportunities within Australia’s trade industries, turning practical interests into clear career pathways.

Through a combination of classroom learning and hands-on excursions, students step into the world of trades, apprenticeships and vocational education. They build a solid understanding of how apprenticeships work and what it takes to get started.

The program strengthens both confidence and capability, supporting students to take their first steps towards employment while staying engaged in their education.

Delivery Mode

The course is delivered over one semester.
One half day per week (4 Hours).

Engaging Training Tailored To Young People

Cire Training have over 30 years’ experience in delivering training specifically to young people. Our trainers tailor classes to create interactive and engaging learning experience for each cohort. A wide range of resources is also used to support and enhance student learning throughout the program.

Course Content

Throughout Business For Trades, students can expect to build a practical understanding of working life while exploring their own strengths, skills and aptitudes and how these align with different trade pathways. The course covers:

Entering The Trade Industry
  • Insight into popular industries
  • Understanding required licences and tickets
  • Applying for apprenticeships
Working Life
  • Tools and equipment
  • Day-to-day job expectations

Delivery Mode

Training is delivered face to face in a classroom environment, supplemented by excursions to real workplaces.

Outcomes

By the end of the program, students will:

  • Obtain their HLTAID011 Provide First Aid (including CPR)
  • Obtain their CPCWHS1001 Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card)
  • Have a strong understanding of trade career pathways available in Australia
  • Identify a trade that aligns with their interests and strengths
  • Develop a clear and achievable plan towards securing an apprenticeship
  • Build practical, job-ready skills to support their transition from school to work
