Project Cire

Join an industry in high demand

The Yarra Valley is one of Australia’s most popular tourist destinations, and the hospitality and tourism sector is one of the fastest-growing in the region. With so many visitors coming to the area, there is a high demand for skilled workers in this field.

Cire Training offers an entry-level training program that will give students the skills they need to be job-ready. This program includes both classroom learning and on-the-job experience, so students will be well-prepared to enter the workforce.

The program is designed in consultation with local businesses, so students will learn the skills to be successful at gaining employment.

About the program

“My passion for cooking came at a very young age, where my grandma taught me how to create all things sweet. From sponge to pavlova, slices and scones, we loved to share these offerings with family and friends. The ability to connect with others through food gave me a true sense of happiness and fulfilment. I continued this enthusiasm in high school with my primary focus on Home Economics, which led to a Bachelor’s Degree – Consumer Science.

This educational path allowed me to learn a full range of aspects, including food science, nutrition, food styling and recipe development. A combination of theory and hands-on cooking skills took me to many places in my career, including the tourism and events sector in both Canada and Melbourne.

These days, my favourite moments are cooking up a storm in the kitchen with my own little family!
We love to experiment with recipes, taste test our creations and have lots of laughs along the way.
On weekends I love to explore new restaurants, cafes, and market stalls to obtain a scope of regional fresh produce and upcoming food trends.

A lifelong goal was to share my passion with others in the local community, and being involved with Project Cire is a dream come true!”
