Kindergarten and occasional care

A time to explore, create, imagine and discover.

Cire Early Learning at the Chirnside Park Community Hub is a purpose-built centre with a large, outdoor play space overlooking the picturesque Kimberley Reserve providing kindergarten and occasional care

Our service inspires and nurtures children’s interests through hands-on experiences driven by evidence that learning is most effective when children are supported to explore through curiosity and play.  Play is considered a vital part of children’s learning, allowing children to explore, discover, negotiate, take risks, and develop a broader understanding and curiosity of the world around them.

Cire’s Occasional Care – an asset within the community because it assists families in terms of employability and having their children cared for, attending appointments or providing a social outlet for their child in a mixed-aged setting.

The service offers families flexible access to child care on a regular, sessional or ad hoc basis.
Delivered by our experienced and qualified educators, it provides a wonderful learning environment for children aged 3 months to 5 years. The play-based program is stimulating and developmentally appropriate and responds to the needs and interests of each child.
Eligible families can claim the Federal Government’s child care subsidy.
Please note that families provide whatever food may be required by their child/ren.

Children's Services - community

Community

We are committed to creating and maintaining strong links with our community and strive to provide support in all we do.

Connections to our community include fortnightly visits to the Lilydale Library by our 4-year-old kindergarten children. These visits open up the world of books and the fun of reading and literature.

Children's Services - sustainability

Sustainability

Cire is committed to sustainable practices and we pride ourselves on educating our children about how they can help to reduce the carbon footprint of the world.  Our initiatives include vegetable gardens, a worm farm and recycling stations.

Children's Services - excursions and incursions

Excursions & Incursions

Excursions and incursions are an important part of our educational program as they expose children to a range of different experiences as well as provide them with a stronger sense of their community.  These opportunities include:

visting Lilydale Library
exploring the bush block at our sister centre in Yarra Junction
visiting the Upper Yarra Museum at Yarra Junction
yoga incursion

Children's Services - specialist programs

Specialist Programs

Our specialist programs further enhance our children’s love of learning, now and for the future.

We are excited to be delivering a language program for our kindergarten children in 2020. The opportunity will further enrich our overall program particularly as research highlights that learning in another language at a young age has many benefits including increased literacy and cognitive flexibility.

In addition, one of our wonderful educators leads a stimulating and engaging music program. It is an exciting initiative because early music education nurtures social and physical development, motor skills, language development, self-expression, memory skills, and concentration.
