Trainer and Assessor – Individual Support Disability

About the role

As an Individual Support Disability Trainer and Assessor, you will deliver Cire’s Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability Stream) and the Certificate IV in Disability to a diverse range of students. With resources at the ready, you will provide training and assessment services in accordance with RTO procedures through a combination of classroom-style and workplace based delivery. You will be passionate about teaching and be focused on the student experience.

This part time position, 30.4 hours per week is based in Lilydale, with some travel required across the east and south eastern suburbs.

Our experienced Trainer and Assessor’s take pride in delivering high quality and industry relevant training and assessment and ensuring our course offerings are compliant with industry regulations and standards. They are focused on the student experience and have the opportunity to make their learning enjoyable and tangible through workplace observation and student placement throughout our community-based services within Cire.

About you

As an experienced, engaging and collaborative senior trainer and assessor, you will:

  • Hold a current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Hold a current Certificate III in Individual Support/Certificate IV in Disability qualification or higher
  • Experience delivering training for the Disability sector
  • Have relevant, multi-disciplinary, industry experience that allows you to connect theory to practice within the community services sector
  • Be dynamic and creative in your approach whilst delivering quality training and assessment to ensure the student and learner experience is a positive one
  • Have experience adapting content and style to different ability levels and interests
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills that allow you to build rapport with students, your team and key internal and external stakeholders
  • Be a team player that recognises the importance of a strong team culture and the need to openly collaborate in a friendly and supportive manner
  • Have strong organisational skills along with attention to detail
  • Hold a valid and current approved Victorian Driver’s License with access to a reliable car
  • Currently hold, or be willing to undertake, certifications including a Working with Children Check, Australian Right to Work Check, and National Police Check
